Kevin holds a
Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Tennessee and has grown up in the Knoxville area.
His musical talents and achievements include Barbershop Harmony Quartet singing with the "Quintessential K's",
Honors bands and choruses. He is a proud UT alumnus and avid UT sports fan.
Kevin has been a music educator in Clinton and Knox County elementary schools for the past 9 years.
He was honored as WBIR Chanel 10 Educator of the week in late 2005. He directed a chorus of inner-city youth
that traveled and sang at venues such as the Dogwood Arts Festival House and Garden Show, City
Council Building, and 2 Knox County School Administrators Christmas Parties.
He has directed church choirs professionally for the past 16 years. Having served in this capacity in Louisville and Oak
Ridge, Kevin has been the director of the Kern Memorial UMC choir since 2002. The quality and range of his choir
is a testament to his musical leadership and talent.
Kevin and his lovely wife, Nikki, live in Clinton with their two children, Caroline and Kaeden.
Kevin took Smoky Mountain Harmony back to the Contest Stage in March of 2009. This was Kevin’s first time competing in the Sweet
Adeline Barbershop Competition arena. As a confirmation to his skill and continuing growth as a barbershop director, Smoky Mountain
Harmony brought home 2nd place Mid-Size Chorus, Division AA medals. And if that wasn’t enough, Kevin also won the Novice Director award!!
His wit, enthusiasm, and musical knowledge are inspirational to our chorus.
Smoky Mountain Harmony is very proud of Kevin and looks forward to many more years of barbershop growth and harmony with Kevin at the helm.
