Smoky Mountain Harmony is proud to introduce our new director, Kevin Miller. Kevin holds a
Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Tennessee and has grown up in the Knoxville area.
His musical talents and achievements include Barbershop Harmony Quartet singing with the “Quintessential K’s”,
Honors bands and choruses. He is a proud UT alumnus and avid UT sports fan.
Kevin has been a music educator in Clinton and Knox County elementary schools for the past 9 years.
He was honored as WBIR Chanel 10 Educator of the week in late 2005. He directed a chorus of inner-city youth
that traveled and sang at venues such as the Dogwood Arts Festival House and Garden Show, City
Council Building, and 2 Knox County School Administrators Christmas Parties.
He has directed church choirs professionally for the past 16 years. Having served in this capacity in Louisville and Oak
Ridge, Kevin has been the director of the Kern Memorial UMC choir since 2002. The quality and range of his choir
is a testament to his musical leadership and talent.
Although his Barbershop experience was in singing rather than directing, Kevin has made rapid strides in acclimating
to the directing style of Barbershop. His wit, enthusiasm, and musical knowledge is inspirational to our chorus.
Kevin has been married to his lovely wife, Nikki for 9 years. They have 1 child, Caroline (age 2) and 1
child on the way. We’re thrilled to welcome his family to our family in harmony!
